ROLE:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the integrity of financial reporting for multiple subsidiary companies. This includes journal entries, subsidiary ledgers, supporting schedules, monthly balance sheet and account analysis; cost accounting activities; accounts payable and accounts receivable; budgeting and financial forecasting; monitors inventory levels; assists with product pricing policies; sales and use tax filings.



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Manages purchasing staff who also have accounts payable responsibilities, as well as the Company's in-house IT/Help Desk resource.
* Coordinates third-party accounting assistance as needed.



ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

* Leads month-end closing process for all subsidiary companies including closing review with Controller and presents monthly financial results to Business Unit leadership.
* Ensures adherence to internal controls, accounting policies/procedures and GAAP.
* Leads the preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts and annual budgets.
* Analyzes inventory levels, production speed and sales forecasts to determine reorder levels.
* Collects data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor; analyzes data obtained and records results.
* Develops and maintains bills of materials and standard costs.
* Analyzes actual manufacturing costs and prepares periodic report comparing standard costs to actual production costs.
* Analyzes changes in product design, raw materials, manufacturing methods, or services provided, to determine effects on costs.
* Performs fixed asset accounting including capitalization decisions, asset life determination, depreciation calculations and subledger maintenance.
* Daily cash reconciliations and preparation of daily cash position statement.
* Manages accounts payable process and reviews accounts payable aging and vendor statements.
* Post cash to customer accounts as received and reviews accounts receivable aging.
* Coding and entry of payroll activity.
* Daily, weekly, and monthly sales and backorder analysis.





SKILLS:

· Experience with NetSuite in a manufacturing environment; Advanced Manufacturing a plus

· Experience working in both cost accounting and general accounting

· Advanced knowledge of Excel

· Previous supervisory experience

· High level of Accuracy, Attention to Detail

· Organizational & Multi-tasking Skills

· Excellent Written & Verbal Communicator w/Listening Skills

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration required.

· 6+ years of related experience required, 3+ years in a management position.

· Bi-lingual Spanish is strongly preferred

· Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.

· Independent decision maker, self-motivated and organized



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer

· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds if needed.
