Assistant Controller - Job Requisition
We are seeking an experienced and strategic-minded Assistant Controller to assist in leading our accounting team and oversee the company's financial operations. The Assistant Controller will play a crucial role in accurate financial reporting, implementing effective internal controls, and providing insightful analysis to support informed business decisions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, financial management, and leadership.
*Provide leadership and direction to the accounting team, including overseeing the accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting functions.
*Manage the month-end and year-end close process, ensuring accurate and timely preparation of financial statements and reports.
*Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
*Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide meaningful insights to senior leadership.
*Lead any audit process to ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial schedules and documentation.
*Assess and improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
*Prepare financial analyses, presentations, and reports for senior leadership.
*Participate in strategic planning initiatives, offering financial insights to support growth and expansion efforts.
*Provide mentorship, training, and guidance to accounting team members, fostering professional development and a collaborative work environment.
*Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and industry trends to ensure compliance and provide proactive recommendations.
*Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
*Proven experience as a manager of people in a similar leadership role.
*Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.
*Experience with ERP systems or other financial software.
*Demonstrated ability to lead and manage an accounting team.
*Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with internal teams and external stakeholders.
*Strong organizational and time-management skills.
*Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize responsibilities effectively.
