Director of Operations - $130,000 - Illinois

The Director of Operations is responsible for the hands-on leadership and direction of all functions of a multi-shift distribution center operation including warehouse, pick/pack/ship, and logistics management. To be successful in this role, one must build, maintain, and continuously improve an infrastructure that includes inventory control, warehouse, and logistics to ensure customer satisfaction and positive profit margins. While driving the strategic and operational processes of the distribution center, this individual is also responsible for the development and management of the warehouse supervisors and associates spread across distribution centers in Illinois.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

TRANSPORTATION PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

· Schedule inbound/outbound shipments with various vendors and customers
· Monitor shipments to ensure on-time and accurate delivery
· Manage freight, customs, handling and other related costs
· Build and optimize loads for outbound LTL and full truckload shipments to keep logistic costs down

WAREHOUSE PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT

· Manage the receipt, process, and shipment of goods, including assembly and pick/pack
· Establish and maintain facility infrastructure to support order fulfillment needs
· Ensure professional development of team through coaching, training, and performance evaluations
· Lead annual physical inventory and cycle count process
· Work with Customer Service to improve on time shipping
· Manage Key Performance Indicators as defined by management

COMPLIANCE MONITORING AND MANAGEMENT

· Ensure consistent OSHA compliance
· Oversee safety and quality programs
· Manage loss prevention
· Implement ISO process and procedures as appropriate

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field
· 5+ years in related field experience
· Distribution management expertise
· History with a diverse range of customer channels (Direct to Consumer, Wholesale, and Retail accounts)
· Familiarity with working on ERP project implementation (NetSuite)
· Experience implementing new distribution centers a plus
