The Accounting Manager's role encompasses the direct oversight of all day-to-day accounting functions, reporting directly to the Vice President of Finance. This entails managing all accounting operations and functions to uphold integrity and internal controls, while also generating financial reports and statements in accordance with US GAAP standards.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Participate in monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes by preparing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and generating management reports.
* Conduct a thorough analysis of actual results and contribute to the development of monthly and quarterly financial statement variance analyses in comparison to forecasts, budgets, and previous years.
* Aid in the creation of a variety of reports for use by the leadership team.
* Ensure timely delivery of requested documentation to third-party entities, including auditors, banks, and legal authorities.
* Identify areas where process improvement is possible and suggest strategies to enhance efficiency and workflow.
* Keep the corporate accounting policies and procedures manual up-to-date.
* Collaborate in the budgeting and forecasting processes.
* Undertake special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business.
* Possess accounting experience, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked in the retail and ecommerce sectors.
* Ideally, have CPA certification.
* Demonstrate proficiency in accounting systems, budgeting, internal controls, business planning, and asset management; it's a plus if you're familiar with NetSuite and Shopify.
* Show competence in using Microsoft Office, particularly with advanced Excel skills.
* Exhibit exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a high level of accuracy.
* Display integrity, confidentiality, and accountability in your work.
* Have strong analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
* Possess excellent teamwork and team-building abilities.
* Showcase solid problem identification and resolution skills.
