Executive summary

Anderson Frank’s brand-new Careers and Hiring Guide is here—one of the most valuable resources for professionals, job seekers, and hiring managers across the global NetSuite community.

Now into its eighth edition, our report provides a wide-ranging snapshot of the career and hiring trends you need to know. It’s also the place to go for the latest NetSuite salary information, helping you uncover your earning potential in the current labor market.

Our findings were drawn from two main channels: self-reported data from an online survey and statistical analysis of vacancies and placements made by our team at Anderson Frank. Collectively, this information has enabled us to profile the global NetSuite ecosystem, providing you with the insights that matter most to your career and hiring decisions.

So, what have we discovered this year?

Let’s begin with certifications. A massive 88% of professionals believe certifications make you a more valuable candidate, although only 46% currently hold a NetSuite cert—up slightly by 3% since our last survey. Enhancing your skills and knowledge via a certification is also a great way to boost your take-home pay, averaging a 21% pay rise among those who received a salary increase post-certification.

It probably comes as no surprise to hear that a better salary and compensation package is the number one thing that will attract candidates into accepting a new role. But, salary aside, 91% of permanent employees tell us that workplace benefits are also important when deciding whether to accept a job offer. A monetary bonus, homeworking, and health/medical insurance are the top three perks most likely to tempt a candidate into a new role.

Moreover, only 52% of NetSuite professionals are satisfied with their current salary, down from 65% in our previous survey. This downward trend suggests that organizations need to keep this on their radar and prioritize measures to help them retain talent.

Honing in on the digital skills divide, 69% of hiring managers believe there is an IT skills gap in the NetSuite community, and 48% of those respondents tell us that attracting candidates with the right skills for their industry is the biggest challenge they face in closing the skills gap in their organization.

Looking at workplace trends, full-time remote working has become the norm for many, with 86% of respondents currently offered this by their employer. To keep up with your competitors in the race for talent, ensure this is something you’re offering your teams.

Shining a spotlight on diversity, equality, and inclusion (EDI), disappointingly, just over half (54%) of the organizations we surveyed have invested resources into their EDI initiatives. And with just 57% of employees believing their employer is providing equal pay for equal work, more clearly needs to be done to drive positive, meaningful change.

I hope these highlights have given you a flavor of what to expect from this year’s report, which is crammed with plenty more data, insights, and commentary to pore over at your leisure!

Thank you to everyone who participated in our survey and made this year’s guide possible. The support we receive from the NetSuite community is always wonderful to see, and we appreciate everyone’s contribution and feedback. Congratulations also goes to our prize winners, Simon Cheung, VP of Finance, Arnold Morse, Finance Director/Controller, and Katie Forster, Manager of Information Technology.
