What steps should you take to become a Developer?

Education

Just over half (54%) of Developers hold at least a Bachelor’s degree. While 43% consider a degree to be an important factor to work with NetSuite, 83% consider a degree an important factor in increasing earning potential.

Certification

A quarter (25%) of Developers are certified, while 67% of Developers believe that certifications help to make you a more valuable professional.

Of the certified Developers we surveyed, all hold the NetSuite SuiteFoundation Certification which is a prerequisite for all others, while 67% also hold the NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer II Certification*.

*NetSuite has changed its certifications since this guide’s survey was run. The NetSuite SuiteCloud Developer II Certification has been replaced by the SuiteCloud Developer Certification, and the introduction of the Application Developer and Web Services Developer certifications—both of which are now prerequisites alongside the SuiteFoundation cert to gain the SuiteCloud Developer certification.
