Position Overview
The Financial Controller will play a crucial role in overseeing the financial operations of the organization. This position requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership abilities, as well as a solid understanding of financial principles within the utility sector. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with regulations, optimize financial performance, and contribute to the company's overall strategy.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage all financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
* Oversee the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
* Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to drive operational efficiency.
* Ensure all financial transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
* Monitor financial performance metrics and provide insights to senior management.
* Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
* Collaborate with other departments to support strategic initiatives and operational goals.
* Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as necessary.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's degree or CPA is highly preferred.
* 7+ years of financial management experience, preferably in the utility or energy sector.
* Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
* Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance.
* Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
* Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (NetSuite preferred).
