Controller - Manufacturing / Consumer Goods

Overview

A well-established and growing manufacturing and consumer goods organization is expanding its finance team and seeking an experienced Controller to support the continued scale of the business. This role is being added due to growth and increasing operational complexity and will work closely with senior finance leadership to strengthen accounting operations, reporting, and cross-functional support.

This is a hands-on role suited for someone who wants to go beyond traditional close and reporting and play an active role in improving processes, supporting operations, and driving accuracy and efficiency across the finance function.

Responsibilities

Oversee core accounting operations including month-end close, financial statements, and GAAP compliance
*

Manage and improve inventory and cost accounting processes, including COGS, standard costing, and variance analysis
*

Partner with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and cost controls
*

Support and review commission and rebate reporting, working closely with sales and external vendors to resolve discrepancies
*

Manage vendor relationships and oversee key financial interactions related to purchasing, rebates, and EDI transactions
*

Assist with treasury and cash flow management, including forecasting, monitoring cash inflows/outflows, and working capital
*

Leverage NetSuite to enhance reporting, automate processes, and improve data accuracy
*

Support and guide the accounting team, including AR and AP functions, with the opportunity to expand leadership responsibilities over time
*

Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements, including ERP optimization and reporting efficiencies
*

Act as a key finance partner across departments, providing insight and support as the business continues to grow

Requirements

*

Prior experience as a Controller, Financial Controller, or senior accounting leader within a manufacturing, consumer goods, or wholesale distribution environment
*

Strong working knowledge of NetSuite in a manufacturing or inventory-driven business
*

Solid experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and COGS
*

Exposure to EDI platforms such as SPS Commerce, TrueCommerce, or CommerceHub
*

Experience with treasury and cash flow management
*

Advanced Excel skills including pivots, lookups, and reporting formulas
*

Exposure to payroll processes and confidential HR-related accounting tasks preferred
*

Ability to operate independently and bring structure, improvements, and accountability to the finance function

Senior Accountant-Fully Remote
We are a fast-growing consumer goods company expanding our finance team to support continued growth across retail, wholesale, and eCommerce channels. Our team operates in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where process improvement, data accuracy, and cross-functional partnership are key to success. We are looking for a Senior Accountant with strong NetSuite, EDI, and consumer goods experience to help scale our accounting operations and support financial reporting.

Position Overview
The Senior Accountant will play a key role in managing the full-cycle accounting process, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring accurate inventory and revenue reporting across multiple sales channels. This role requires someone comfortable working in NetSuite, experienced in EDI-driven retail environments, and familiar with the nuances of inventory accounting in consumer goods or product-based companies.

Key Responsibilities

Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting.
*

Maintain and optimize accounting processes within NetSuite, including saved searches, reporting, and system improvements.
*

Support inventory and COGS accounting, including reconciliations, landed cost analysis, and inventory valuation.
*

Work closely with operations, sales, and supply chain teams to ensure accurate financial reporting across retail, wholesale, and eCommerce channels.
*

Manage and reconcile EDI transactions, including chargebacks, deductions, and retailer-specific reporting requirements.
*

Analyze financial data and provide insights to leadership to support decision-making and operational improvements.
*

Assist with sales tax, revenue recognition, and compliance related to multi-channel consumer goods
