Job Description

Join a leading company at the forefront of the education industry, dedicated to transforming learning experiences and driving educational success. My client is seeking a Division Accounting Manager to be a pivotal leader within their Corporate Accounting group.

Role & Responsibilities



* Monthly Close and Reporting: Oversee the monthly close and reporting process for our Specialized Education Division. Lead the review of monthly results and approve reconciliations and journal entries.
* Financial Performance: Partner with the Division President and Territory Vice Presidents to review the financial performance of the division and support business initiatives.
* Forecasts and Budgets: Collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis to develop forecasts and budgets for the division.
* Team Management: Manage and review the work of a team of accountants, covering areas such as revenue accounting, expense accruals, fixed assets, and leases.
* Policy Enforcement: Drive the enforcement of accounting policies and procedures and ensure accurate reporting of monthly results.
* Documentation: Prepare memos and other documentation to address the accounting for significant transactions.
* Process Improvement: Continuously improve standardized closing and reporting processes to streamline operations.
* External Reporting: Support the external reporting process to equity investors and lenders.
* Risk Assessment: Ensure the company's financial reporting risk assessment and internal controls are updated for evolving risks as the company grows.
* Annual Audit Coordination: Coordinate and support the annual audit conducted by independent accountants.
* State Audits: Coordinate and support the annual statutory state audits.
* System Improvement: Improve and build appropriate systems and processes to facilitate timely and accurate closing of monthly financial statements.



Skills & Qualifications



* Education: BS in Accounting required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
* Experience: Minimum 6+ years in public accounting and/or private industry required.
* Skills: Expertise in US GAAP accounting, managing a monthly close process, and reviewing work of a team of accountants.
* Professional Qualities: Hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong financial and analytical skills. High level of integrity, dependability, urgency, and results-orientation. Strong business and common sense.
* Leadership: Career-motivated, dedicated, committed leader.
* Sector Experience: Prior experience in a labor-based service organization or the education sector is helpful but not required.
* Technical Skills: NetSuite experience is required
