Accounting Manager | $120k Base Salary + 10% Bonus | Fully Remote

Brief Overview:

As the Division Accounting Manager, you will be a key leader within the Corporate Accounting group, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting. This position is vital to the organization and will work closely with the Division President and Territory Vice Presidents to understand and drive performance. Extensive collaboration with Financial Planning and Analysis, Divisional leadership, and senior management including the Controller and CFO is required.

Role & Responsibilities:

* Oversee the monthly close and reporting process for the Specialized Education Division, including the review of monthly results and approval of reconciliations and journal entries.
* Partner with the Division President and Territory Vice Presidents to review the division's financial performance and support business operations.
* Assist Financial Planning and Analysis in developing forecasts and budgets for the division.
* Manage and review the work of a team of accountants in areas such as revenue accounting, expense accruals, fixed assets, and leases.
* Enforce accounting policies and procedures, ensuring accurate monthly reporting.
* Prepare memos and documentation for significant transactions.
* Improve standardized closing and reporting processes to streamline operations.
* Support external reporting to equity investors and lenders.
* Ensure financial reporting risk assessment and internal controls are updated as the company grows.
* Coordinate and support the annual audit conducted by independent accountants.
* Coordinate and support annual statutory state audits.
* Enhance systems and processes to facilitate timely and accurate monthly financial statement closings.

Base Requirements:

* BS in Accounting; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
* Minimum 6+ years of experience in public accounting and/or private industry.
* Proven experience managing a monthly close process.
* Expertise in accounting according to US GAAP.
* Ability to manage and review the work of a team of accountants.
* Strong financial and analytical skills with a hands-on, take-charge attitude.
* High integrity and dependability, with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
* Career-motivated, dedicated, and committed leadership qualities.
* Experience in a labor-based service organization or the education sector is helpful but not required.
* NetSuite experience is a plus.
