JOB SUMMARY
The Controller is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations within a manufacturing organization. This role manages Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Project Accounting functions while ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and internal policies. The Controller will plan, organize, and coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes; recommend and implement accounting process improvements; and serve as a key liaison to external auditors, banks, and advisors. The role also supports accounting system upgrades and ERP-related process enhancements.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Manage daily accounting and reporting, including general ledger activities.

Reconcile daily sales; review AR and AP aging; process internal and external commissions.

Analyze prepaid expenses and accruals; perform bank reconciliations and reviews.

Lead, develop, and mentor the accounting team, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
*
Support payroll and benefits administration in partnership with HR.
*
Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, including financial commentary and liquidity reporting.

Partner cross-functionally with operations and supply chain teams to ensure accurate inventory valuation and physical counts.

Lead annual reviews, compliance activities, and tax reporting.
*
Prepare quarterly forecasts, annual budgets, and management presentations.
*
Prepare and file multi-state tax filings.
*
Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and support the implementation of new accounting standards.
*
Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
*
Support external audits and tax return preparation.
*
Ensure timely balance sheet reconciliations with appropriate documentation.
*
Perform variance analysis, including purchase price, labor, and spending variances.
*
Manage fixed assets, including purchases, financing, ROI analysis, amortization, and reporting.

Support ERP training, process improvements, and cross-departmental initiatives.
*
Assist senior leadership with ad hoc reporting, projections, and business analysis.
*
Support accounting system upgrades, integrations, and report development/testing.
*
Assist with risk management initiatives and maintain insurance programs (general liability, property, auto, workers' compensation).
*
Manage vendor relationships and contracts.
*
Serve as primary contact for legal counsel and support company legal matters.
*
Act as administrator for online banking and corporate credit card programs.
*
Complete special projects as assigned.
