Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accounts Payable Specialist with expertise in Netsuite to join our finance team. They are within the SaaS and retail industry and work with large retailers across the company to streamline their POS systems. As the Accounts Payable Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the end-to-end accounts payable process, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with financial policies.

Role & Responsibilities

* Verify invoice details, match purchase orders, and resolve discrepancies.
* Manage the timely and accurate processing of vendor invoices in Netsuite.
* Monitor payment terms and take advantage of early payment discounts when applicable.
* Communicate with vendors regarding invoice inquiries and payment-related matters.
* Reconcile employee expense reports with supporting documentation.
* Leverage Netsuite functionalities for efficient invoice and payment processing.
* Maintain organized and accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
* Responsible for maintaining personal expenses of the CEO including but not limited to property expenses, travel expenses, personal expenses, etc.

Skills & Qualifications

* Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist
* Strong understanding of accounts payable principles, processes, and best practices.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant accounting tools.

Staff Accountant - New York, NY - $80,000

The Staff Accountant will be responsible for recording monthly journal entries and preparing draft financial reports. The business operates at a fast pace, requiring work to be completed accurately and promptly. Agility is essential due to the transactional nature of the business.

Responsibilities

* Record journal entries
* Allocate insurance to entities
* Amortize and reconcile prepaid assets
* Accrue professional fees, bank charges, etc.
* Prepare financial reports for all locations, analyzing YoY variances exceeding pre-defined materiality thresholds and understanding material variances to budget.
* Identify unusual trends in income or expense in the "trailing" reports.
* Update financial models with assumptions provided by management for annual budgets.
* Provide necessary financial statement information as requested by senior management for the preparation of monthly reports to owners.
* Contribute/assist in the tax return preparation process by preparing and providing trial balances, detailed supporting schedules, and working with tax accountants to determine appropriate treatment of cap-ex and repair and maintenance.
* Engage in ongoing Q&A with tax accountants.
* Play a significant role in tax projections.
* Prepare all required financials, rent rolls, etc., for debt compliance, most of which are already part of the financial reporting process or readily available.
* Handle other projects as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications

* Staff-level experience, preferably with real estate experience
* Experience in NetSuite
* Initiative and commitment to producing accurate work
* Positive, friendly, helpful, team-oriented attitude
* Ability to prioritize and manage multiple concurrent projects
* Honesty to seek help or guidance when needed and a strong work ethic
