Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist with NetSuite Experience

Job Type:Full-Time, Onsite - Carteret,NJ (5 days a week)

Salary Range: 55,000 - 75,000

Our client is a leading wholesale supplier whose recent implementation of NetSuite and technology advancements has them poised for significant growth. Their dynamic team is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join us and contribute to our growing success.

Position Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounts Payable Specialist with extensive NetSuite experience to manage our AP processes efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounts payable functions, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process invoices and ensure proper coding and approval.
- Perform three-way matching of purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices.
- Enter and upload invoices into NetSuite accurately and timely.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and manage vendor relationships.
- Assist in month-end closing and prepare accruals and journal entries.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth financial operations.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures and comply with internal controls.
- Assist with audits by providing supporting documentation and explanations.
- Continuously seek process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience as an Accounts Payable Specialist, preferably in a similar industry.
- Proficient in NetSuite; strong understanding of its AP module and functionalities.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Education:
- Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; Bachelor's degree preferred.

Position Overview: We are seeking a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting & Finance team. The ideal candidate will have a background in insurance, possess strong technical skills in Applied Epic and Excel, and be experienced in various accounting functions such as account payable, NetSuite, procure to pay, and month-end closing.

Key Responsibilities:

* Maintain Agent Carrier Portals and retrieve statements and invoices.
* Assist with cash applications into the Applied Management System, particularly pertaining to the Premium Trust on Agency Bill and Direct Bill.
* Process wires, checks, and e-payments.
* Provide assistance with credit references and inputting direct bill billing.
* Reconcile Direct Bill, handle billing adjustments, and collect on past due commissions.
* Assist with Agency Bill Premium Collections, including 30/60/90-day collections.
* Retrieve return premiums for carriers and wholesale brokers.
* Assist with premium financing and month-end accounting statements to all insureds.
* Handle incoming emails and attachments, resolving discrepancies with carriers, wholesalers, and insureds.
* Assist with commissions download into the Applied System and all carrier statements and payables related to Agency Bill.
* Distribute notices of cancellations and adhere to all Agency Service Fee Agreements.
* Input and perform cash application pertaining to Life and Health.
* Demonstrate excellent time management skills, work effectively as part of a team, and collaborate closely with management.
* Strong proficiency in Excel and MS Office suite.

Required Skills/Experience:

* 2-5 years of agency experience is preferred.
* Proficiency with Tam or Epic Management Systems.
* Strong accounting background with experience in account payable, NetSuite, procure to pay, and month-end closing.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
* Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
* Proactive problem-solving skills.

Role & Responsibilities



* Monthly Close and Reporting: Oversee the monthly close and reporting process for our Specialized Education Division. Lead the review of monthly results and approve reconciliations and journal entries.
* Financial Performance: Partner with the Division President and Territory Vice Presidents to review the financial performance of the division and support business initiatives.
* Forecasts and Budgets: Collaborate with Financial Planning and Analysis to develop forecasts and budgets for the division.
* Team Management: Manage and review the work of a team of accountants, covering areas such as revenue accounting, expense accruals, fixed assets, and leases.
* Policy Enforcement: Drive the enforcement of accounting policies and procedures and ensure accurate reporting of monthly results.
* Documentation: Prepare memos and other documentation to address the accounting for significant transactions.
* Process Improvement: Continuously improve standardized closing and reporting processes to streamline operations.
* External Reporting: Support the external reporting process to equity investors and lenders.

Skills & Qualifications



* Education: BS in Accounting required; CPA and/or MBA preferred.
* Experience: Minimum 6+ years in public accounting and/or private industry required.
* Skills: Expertise in US GAAP accounting, managing a monthly close process, and reviewing work of a team of accountants.
* Professional Qualities: Hands-on, take-charge financial professional with strong financial and analytical skills. High level of integrity, dependability, urgency, and results-orientation. Strong business and common sense.
* Leadership: Career-motivated, dedicated, committed leader.
* Sector Experience: Prior experience in a labor-based service organization or the education sector is helpful but not required.
* Technical Skills: NetSuite experience is required
